There are a number of extra curricular opportunities for learners at Freemans Bay School. Information about activities is included in our school newsletters which come out fortnightly, as the activities become available.

Freemans Bay School Sports Teams

These teams play their games away from school, so require transportation to and from the venue.  These teams also require parent supervision, or parent managers and/or coaches.  We can arrange to share transportation from the school to the venue with other team members, if transportation is an issue.

Starting in Week 1 (October 22nd) through to December 17th

Brendan Doogan is an international instructor, international umpire and world champion in power breaking, and is back at Freemans Bay School with a lunchtime Taekwon-Do programme.  Taekwon-Do is a Korean martial art, a version of unarmed combat designed for the purpose of self defense. We learn how to keep ourselves and others fit and safe.  Taekwon-Do has three syllables in its name. ‘Tae’ indicates a lifted foot, to jump or kick. ‘Kwon’ is the fist. ‘Do’ means a way of life, using our hearts and minds to build a better world.  Students learn stances, punches, blocks and kicks. They exercise and enjoy each other’s company in a constructive learning environment, and hear stories and share examples about how we should act in our daily lives.
